Branch Office

  • Unmatched footprint. iPass ensures 100 percent coverage through DSL, cable and T1 access services across the United States and Canada.
  • Cost-effective. Easily upgrade your branch office dial-up access, or improve price performance by replacing expensive leased-line connections with broadband.
  • Productivity. Broadband access helps to increase employee productivity in branch and local offices.
  • Protection. Hardware encryption and firewall components decrease risks to assets.
  • Availability. iPass ensures industry-leading network performance and availability through comprehensive SLAs.

Outsource WAN Complexity and Control Costs
The iPass Branch Office service cost-effectively delivers business applications through a secure, fully managed IP VPN to dispersed branch offices-even to remote corners of North America. Our aggregated broadband network comprises over 160 providers of cable, DSL and other technologies to deliver the industry's most extensive geographic coverage, to which we add a secure IPSec VPN, end-to-end SLAs and standardized CPE provisioning. This service is especially attractive for any company with large numbers of geographically dispersed branch or distributed offices.

Taking a unique approach to managed, secure site-to-site connectivity, each iPass Branch Office engagement begins with a tailored solution that's designed to achieve your stringent performance targets and business objectives. By outsourcing this managed IP VPN service to iPass, you receive turnkey implementation, deployment and management with one point of contact, a single point of accountability and one consolidated bill. The resulting WAN solution can cost 70 percent less than frame-relay services while providing at least five times the throughput of 56 kbps dial-up access.

This outsourced service eliminates the need to manage multiple vendors and invoices while dramatically reducing IT support requirements, freeing your organization to focus resources on achieving your core business objectives.

Key capabilities of iPass Branch Office include:

Professional Network Design and Implementation
iPass handles every aspect of design, site implementation, ISP vendor qualification, price negotiation, service management, billing and support. Each implementation is custom designed for your specific branch office business applications, with experienced project managers who oversee all aspects of your deployment.

  • A detailed project plan clearly articulates all deliverables and milestones, including timelines, to ensure successful implementation.
  • An in-depth solution plan covers network design, transport architecture, reliability and availability requirements, and all operational and support processes.
  • Centralized hardware management includes provisioning, logistics and RMA services.

Secure WAN Communications
There's no room for compromise when it comes to end-to-end WAN security. That's why iPass provides:

  • Internet transport security using industry-standard IPSec or AES encryption
  • Industry-standard managed-service units (MSU) that include firewalls, VPN termination and other connection management capabilities

Monitored and Managed Around the Clock
iPass experts provide network monitoring, management, notification and troubleshooting 24 hours a day, every day, including automated monitoring of actual IPSec network performance.

  • iPass proactively opens more than 95 percent of all case tickets, immediately acting upon service-disrupting conditions such as excessive latency, extensive packet loss, outage or backup conditions.
  • The iPass Managed Network Services Portal provides real-time visibility into deployment, performance, availability and general health of every branch on the network.
  • IT managers gain end-to-end network reporting of real-time and historical data, including case ticket status and SLA reports via the Managed Network Services Portal.

Backed by a Comprehensive Enterprise Service Level Agreement
The Branch Office SLA provides network and client management performance targets in eight key areas such as:

  • On-time installations and changes
  • End-to-end network monitoring, availability, round-trip latency and round-trip packet delivery
  • 24x7 customer care for MTTR on outage and latency
  • Managed Network Services Portal availability

Secure, Convenient Wireless Connections
iPass offers managed site-to-site IPSec VPN services via 3G wireless broadband as an add-on option to iPass Branch Office. These services can accelerate time-to-market in greenfield sites where standard Internet service many not yet exist, ensuring business continuity and extending broadband access to non-traditional venues.

  • Wireless JumpStart service. iPass can have new branch locations up and running on day one (before other broadband options are available).
  • Wireless Backup service. This affordable real-time failover service uses wireless broadband to eliminate downtime if a traditional broadband service should fail.
  • Wireless Primary service. Locations that can't be served by wires can still take advantage of 3G wireless broadband for mobile kiosks, outdoor events or in the case of natural disasters.

Managed Network Services Portal

  • Maintain complete control. The Managed Network Services Portal allows you to track all aspects of your network at any time.
  • Ordering. Submit orders electronically via the Managed Network Services Portal to speed up ordering, then follow the progress of any order in real time. Site information is also available on installed sites such as dynamic IP address information.
  • Network monitoring. Gain comprehensive real-time and historical IP VPN availability and performance reporting. Availability is tested every three minutes and round-trip latency, packet loss and dial backup are tested every five minutes. You can even view LAN-to-LAN availability and performance between your data center(s) and remote locations.
  • Trouble tickets. Most Branch Office trouble tickets or cases are proactively opened by iPass. You can follow the progress being made to resolve any outstanding issues. Trouble tickets or cases can be opened for service problems and customers can view the status of opened and closed cases.
  • Ad hoc reports. Remain in control of your branch connections, with the ability to run various ad hoc reports to analyze network performance.
  • Invoices. Electronic copies of the invoices are available on the Managed Network Services Portal each month.
